For Smoke Farm’s 2012 Lo-Fi art & performance festival, we built a new Woven Grass Village over the ruins of the previous one. At first, it seemed all traces of the 2011 installation were gone, but once we began working we began finding remnants, like an archaeological dig.

The entrance to the 2012 installation was built over the remains of the “welcome mat” from the 2011 installation. Although a new crop of grass had completely covered the previous years’ installation, we were able to excavate parts of it and build around them. Entry pathway is around behind the welcome mat.
